VETERANS

WITH the last of this year’s district events completed it is timely to look ahead to next year. The inclement weather policy is implemented to look after the wellbeing and health of our members. As a result the local competition has begun the summer break and does not recommence until March 2023.

So the focus on this week’s report is on state-wide information. The Victorian Veteran Golfers Association, of which Sunraysia is an affiliated member, recently conducted their December meeting. We have representation at a zone level, a zone councilor.

However the time and distance required to attend meetings limits us to attend and our councilor position is currently vacant, therefore we rely on the minutes distributed to district secretaries.

These minutes are recorded on the VVGA website along with other information. The minutes record that a focus for next year is to assist local associations updating their constitutions. We will need an update to clarify how that affects our local association.

Next year’s championship dates and venues have been finalised. They are the 4BBB championships which is to be held on March 21-22 at Hamilton; the country championships are on May 8-9 at

Barham and the teams championships are at Kialla on September 18-19. The state championships are October 23-24 at Warragul.
