VETERANS

Our annual general meeting held last week saw the election of a new captain, Ned Klemm, and new vice-captain, George Mason, with the re-election of Tony Dal Corobbo as treasurer, John Denman as president and Brian Young as secretary. The committee members elected were George Poriazis, Cliff Ferguson, Roy Latta, Jill Gleeson, Keith Willis and Cath Remer.

The reports presented outlined a successful year for the association, with it enjoying good membership numbers, a strong financial base and supportive sponsors. Retiring captain John Green was thanked for his leadership and work over the past seven years.

Winners of this year’s incentive program will be announced at the December meeting. A meeting of the committee at the conclusion of the AGM reviewed the effectiveness of the incentive program and decided to replace it. Participants who attend the AGM will have their lunch provided. It is important that members be encouraged to attend and contribute at this important meeting.

It was also decided that the awarding of a third-place prize will continue for the next year and the badge draw will also remain.

Our next meeting will be the last for this year.

After that we will take a break over the summer to avoid playing in the the heat.

It will be single Stableford event to be held at the Mildura Golf on Monday, December 5. It is our Christmas meeting with a special lunch.

Make sure you are there to collect your copy of next year’s syllabus.
