Accolade for Rhodes

GREG Rhodes has been selected as the July winner of the Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year.

Rhodes was nominated by the Coomealla Golf Club after winning the Coomealla Senior Open, a Golf Australia Order of Merit event.

Going up against 77 other entrants in the 15th edition of the event, Rhodes became a five-time winner, finishing with 215 which was nine strokes ahead of second place.

Back in April this year, Rhodes shot a three-round total of 225 to win his first National Senior Masters title against a field of 100 of the top senior golfers in the country.

He followed this up with a win in the Riverside Open in May, and a win in the Coolangatta-Tweed Heads National Matchplay Championship in June.

As the July winner, Greg received a voucher from Sportspower and is eligible for the 2022 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards, on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Mallee Sports Assembly is calling for September nominations for the 2022 Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards.
