VETERANS
THE Veteran Golfers Association members met at the Red Cliffs Golf Club on Monday to determine who would be their 2022 champions. I will have the results published next week.
We have reached the halfway mark of our scheduled syllabus for this year. The cooler weather does affect our numbers as some of our members take a break by migrating north for the winter but our playing numbers have stayed steady. It’s an indication of how much our members value the opportunities to compete on the various district courses and play different formats. Each month district clubs actively support our association by providing well-maintained courses, good lunches and hospitality with a welcoming 19th hole.
It’s never too late to join the association so just ask a current member and they will tell you how good it is to be part of our group. Introduce yourself when you register and we will make sure you are organised into a group and looked after. Registration begins about 8:30am at each monthly event. The cost is just $20 which covers green fees, competition fees and a lunch. Generous prizes are up for grabs. Men and women players are most welcome.
Our next event is a 4BBB Stableford played in pairs held at at the Coomealla Golf Club on Monday, August 1. The challenging course is a drawcard and is generally well supported. See you there.
