VETERANS

ON Monday, July 4 the Sunraysia Veteran Golfers Association will hold their Annual Championship Day. The venue this year is the Red Cliffs Golf Club and the starting time will be 9:30am.

The usual procedure is in place with registration commencing around 8:30am with a $20 entry fee which includes green fees and lunch.

Tony and Brian will be there to complete your registration and Greenie will organise you into groups in readiness for the shotgun start. Carts and walkers are always catered for.

All par threes will be nearest the pin awards and because it is a championship round it is a stroke event. Every hit counts towards determining our champion (stroke) in the A and B Grade scratch and handicap winners. Generous prizes are up for grabs.

To be eligible to compete for the championships titles members need to have played on two previous occasions this year. Non eligible members are still able to play a social game.

Please remember to wear your badge and to check your GA score in readiness for the day. A final reminder that carts are in limited numbers, so to avoid disappointment, it is best that you pre-book by contacting the club.

It is always a popular event and the Red Cliffs Club consistently presents the course in great condition. Their hospitality at the 19th is warm and friendly and the lunch tasty and generous.

See you there – until then happy golfing.
