VETERANS

On Monday, June 6, the district veteran golfers meet at Riverside Golf Club for a single stableford competition. The normal routine applies. Registration begins around 8.30am followed by the captains address at 9am and then our dispersion to the starting tees for a shotgun start. Members are reminded to contact the club prior to the day if you need to hire a cart. They are in plentiful supply.

As usual the course is in top condition. Nature has helped out with some extra watering and the greens and fairways receive regular attention. After the game we can look forward to a warm welcome at the 19th.

Remember to wear your name tag and check your GA handicap.

June is an unusual month in that there is an extra round. On Monday, June 20, veterans travel to Ouyen for a 4BBB stableford day. This is a regular event and one that gives us the opportunity to play on sandscrapes. This advance notice is to give players time to organise pairs for that day, to arrange for carts to be transported and car pools to be finalised. A limited number of carts are available so it is important to contact Scott Brady on 0409 072 688 to ensure you secure one. Of course walkers are welcome.

Both these clubs make a great effort to support our association and so let’s show our ongoing appreciation by attending in good numbers.

New members both male and female are welcome to join us. See you next Monday.

RIVERSIDE

It was with sad hearts we received the news of the passing of Raelene Kolpin, one of Riverside’s past lady members. Raelene was a much loved and respected member and friend. Deepest sympathy goes to Chippa and their families.
