VETERANS

After a successful start to the 2022 schedule, the Sunraysia District Veteran Golfers will next meet at Red Cliffs on Monday, April 4.

It will be a single stableford event commencing at 9.30am with our regular shotgun start.

As with all district clubs, Red Cliffs hosts district veteran golf days by providing a welcoming atmosphere and a generous lunch, so we expect a good field once again.

Cart hire is limited so it is suggested that players contact the club as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

The distribution of badges last month was successful with most given out. We had our first draw and winner in the monthly competition promoting their use but members agree that they are a great idea. They will continue to be rolled out through the year.

This month we will see one change to our normal routine. Our captain John Green will be away and our recently elected vice captain Ned Klemm will step up and fill the role. Ned is experienced and will have no trouble organising the day.

The questions raised about the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association’s proposed insurance scheme have been sent to the executive and have been added to the agenda for discussion at their next meeting. We will have more information after that.

Until then, happy hitting and we look forward to seeing everyone at Red Cliffs.
