RIVERSIDE

Monday the 19th Veteran and Friends competition winner was John Fraser, with Bruce Liddell picking up second place, followed by Graeme Irvin, all on a 38pts. 

Ned Klemm was the closest on the 18th NTP, with 190cm. 

Marie Hudak won the nine hole Stableford on Tuesday, with 17pts, but not before a count back against runner up Kaye Ballantyne. Kaye also came away with the NTP on the fourth – 750cm. 

The Men’s President had the best score on Wednesday, in the Stableford. 

Alan Connolly’s 38pts gave him the A Grade win, over Gary Sharman, on 37pts, after a count back with Malcolm Kalms. 

A count back was needed in B Grade, with Greg Barila on top and Jerry Stephens, runner up, both on 35pts. 

NTPs were : Fourth – Michael Holcroft 182cm, Seventh – Paul Reed 151cm, 17th – Chris O’Brien 203cm and 18th – Brad Steer 510cm. 

Marg McIntyre, the Ladies winner on Thursday produced a magnificent 41pts in the Drummond Golf Stableford. Runner Up went the way of Jenny Stephenson, on 36pts. 

NTPs were : Fourth – Selma Mayne 710cm, Seventh – Suzy Conquest 190cm, 12th – Caroline James 159cm and 18th – Heather Klemm 64cm. 

The Medley nine hole played on Friday saw an excellent 23pts coming from Taj Dale to win, from second place, Greg Barila, 21pts, after a count back with Dwaine White. 

It was Stroke and Putting for the Ladies on Saturday in the Monthly Award. Tracey Bryan (94/76) grabbed the Award, after a count back with Sally Watson (104/76). 

NTPs were : Fourth – Tracey Bryan 380cm, Caroline James on both the Seventh – 377cm and 12th – 41cm. 18th – Chitra Rankin 100cm. 

The Men contested their Monthly Medal on Saturday, in four Grades. 

Riversides Manager, David Gardiner played a terrific round of (79/71) in A Grade to collect the medal, with the Captain, Kendall Marchment in second place on a great score of (76/72). 

Gavin Graham put together a super (86/70) to come away with the B Grade win, just in front of Atu Akima (84/71). 

The score of the day came in C Grade, from Craig George, with an outstanding (89/68) rewarding him with the Medal. Keith Willis (92/73) was runner up, after a count back with Ray Cottle (90/73). 

Maurice Munro finished with a 71 nett, after his 98 off the stick, to leave with the D Grade Medal. A count back determined the second place, with Gary McNally coming away the better, in front of Noel Murray, both on (108/76). 

NTPs were : Fourth – Jarrad Stokker 196cm, Seventh – Tony Scullino 170cm, 17th – Gavin Graham 22cm and 18th – Kendall Marchment 340cm. 

The Anzac Day comp was an Ambrose in two’s, with the pair of Angelo D’Amico and Callum Winslow smashing out a ripper (68/62) to win the Men’s section, over Simon Dean and Jacob Dickason (70/63.5). Third place went to Steve Wilmann and Simon Dale, with their 64 off the stick, giving them a 64.75 nett. 

Lorraine Palmer and Kendall Marchment had the winning score (70/64.75) in the Mixed section, with Kerry and Chris Grimmer runner up (77/65.5). 

NTPs were: Men’s – Fourth – Grant Giddings 250cm. 18th – John Denman 280cm. 

Ladies : Fourth – Sandra Luitjes 330cm. 18th – Maree Irvin 335cm.

Wednesday Men:

A Grade winner was Glenn Marr 40 points, runner-up was Jack Budd 40 points and 3rd went to Anthony Lee 38 points

B Grade winner was Peter Brookes 40 points, runner-up was Mark Lee 40 points and third went to Trevor Carroll 37 points.

C Grade winner was Peter Chase 40 points, Runner-up – Peter Shadwick 37 points and third went to Michael Maynard 37 points

Nearest the pins went to 3rd – Greg Rhodes 476 cm, 7th – John Hardie 235cm, 11th – Michael Golitschenko 360cm and18th – Aaron Blake 231cm.

Wednesday Women winner was Adel Dal Corobbo 34 points, runner-up was Janet Fumberger 34 points.

Nearest the pins were, 3rd Sue Laird 0cm, 7th Frann Sette 238cm, 11th Suellen Nunan 84cm and 18th Cath Eddie 152cm.

Friday – Medley 9 Hole Stableford winner: Greg Chandler 22 points, runner-up Glenn Marr 20 points.

Saturday Men A Grade winner: Glenn Marr 65 nett, runner-up Alan Scorer 70 nett and third: Vince Dichiera 70 nett.

B Grade winner was Greg Chandler 68 nett, runner-up was Jim Fahey 70 nett and third was Bruce Summerfield 71 nett.

C Grade winner was Rodney Hand 67 nett, runner-up was Noel Thomas 68 nett and third went to Bob Fleiner 71 nett.

NTP’S were 3rd Jim Fahey 183 cm, 7th Tim O’Neill 115cm, 11th Bruce Summerfield 85 cm, 18th Larry Frasca 440cm.

Saturday Women winner: Linda Jakubans 74 nett, runner-up was Maureen Bailey 77nett and NTP’s were 3rd Kate Murdoch 95 cm, 7th Lee Bottomley 401cm, 11th Linda Jakubans 0cm, 18th Kate Murdoch 18cm.

Sunday Medley Stableford winner was Ray Lyons 39 points, runner-up was Rodney Hand 39 points, third was Adam martin 38 points.

NTP’S were 3rd Sally McOrist 380cm, 7th Dale Stephens 215cm, 11th Noah Lanigan 150cm, 18th Tim Knight 180cm.

MERBEIN

Wednesday, April 21 saw a small field hit the course for a stableford event with Both Adrian Rudd and Frank Crouch shooting 34 points. It was Adrian that got the win via count back.

Winner: Adrian Rudd 34 points and runner-up: Frank Crouch 34 points.

Saturday was a 4BBB Par event with some great scores entered. Matty Dean and Jason Pope got the win via count back over Ken Matulick and Roger Walder with +8. 

Winner: Jason Pope & Matt Dean +8, runners-up: Ken Matulick and Roger Walder +8.

NTP’s were 2nd: K. Matulick 149cm, 3rd: J. Bell 300cm, 8th: S. Russell 1500cm, 12th: R. Teasedale 288cm, 14th: F. Zambito 224cm, 16th: G. Kerr 1080cm and 18th: R. Walder 790cm.

MILDURA

The Mildura ladies played single par on Tuesday 20 April. 

Carla Sherriff finished square and won the event from Ruth Rodi (-1, ) Bev Matthews and Kim Ingram (both on -2), and Margaret Morrison (-3). 

Nearest the pin prizes were won by Carol Zimmerman (first hole, 450 cm and tenth hole, 107 cm); Carla Sherriff (second hole, 1200 cm); and Rhonda Young (twelveth hole, 1110 cm). The 9 hole par event was won by Isobel Westhead (+3) with Faye Casey (+1) in second place.

The men played single stableford in two grades on Wednesday 21 April. 

Rob Donaldson won A grade with 38 points, from James Murphy and Peter Miatke, both on 37 points. 

B grade was won by Rod Truman on 38 points, from Phillip Nash (36 points) and Alan Lay (35 points). 

Nineteen players with scores of 33 or better won a ball. 

Nearest the pin prizes were won by Trevor Rogers (first hole, 120 cm); James Murphy (second hole, 250 cm); Ray Quirk (second hole, pig prize, 149 cm); Maurice Warn (tenth hole, 204 cm); and Gary Fumberger (twelveth hole, 345 cm). 

Nineteen players with scores of 33 or better won a ball each.

The mens monthly medal stroke event on Saturday 24 April was in three grades. 

Graeme Polkinghorne won A grade with net 70; from Joe Rocca (net 72) and Peter Rhodes (net 73). Tim Mitchell won B grade with net 68, from John Green and Rod Truman (both on net 70). 

C grade was won by Denis Clarke (69 net) from Greg Buchanan (70 net) and Robert Walker (net 73). Balls went to nineteen players with scores of 74 or better. 

Nearest the pin prizes were won by Phillip Nash (first hole, 120cm); Cliff Ferguson (second hole, 67 cm); Keith Williams (second hole pig prize, 950 cm); Geoff Hazeldine (tenth hole, 404 cm); and

Terry O’Brien (twelveth hole, 130 cm). Golf Balls were won by 19 players with scores of net 74 or better. 

A big field of golfers played in the Anzac Day ambrose in 4’s event on Sunday 25 April. 

The winners were the team of Bob Bettess, David Murray, Thorell Lees, and Justin McPhee (58 strokes, nett 53.375). 

Second place went to Justin Morrison, Jason O’Brien, Sam Boake, and Brett Beswick (64 strokes, nett 55); and Timothy Mitchell, Michael Osborne, Joseph Rocca and Craig Wright (64, nett 56.75) were third. 

Nearest the pin prizes were won by Gary Pearce and Margaret Morrison on the second hole; Mark White and Heidi Schulz on the tenth; and Paul White and Kym Ingram on the twelveth hole. 

The Mildura veteran men played single stableford on Monday April 26. 

Geoff Cameron had 39 points to win the competition from Keith Williams on 36 points, and Frank Tippett on 35 points. 

Geoff Cameron won the nearest the pin prize on the second hole, and Keith Williams on the twelveth hole.
