VETERANS
NORMALLY the first Monday of the month is the day that the veteran golfers play in a district event. The only general exception is when we take a two month break at the start of each year to avoid the very hot weather.
This year April’s event will be held on Monday the 12th at the Red Cliffs Golf Club. Easter necessitated a change to our normal process.
The fact the daylight savings ended as well meant that disruption has been minimal. It also gave us a window of opportunity to schedule an extra round at Wentworth last week. Now it will be back to normality.
The event is a single stableford game with the shotgun start to commence as near to 9.30am as possible. All the usual practices are in place, registration from 8.30am, $10 for the lunch and $10 for the green and entry fee.
John will run through any local rules before dispersing the walkers and carters to their starting tees. The club does have carts for hire but they are in short supply so I would advise that you contact the club to book one if needed.
Contestants will have their attendance recorded as part of the incentive program as well as vying for Nearest the Pin and A and B Grade prizes.
With the weather forecast predicting a great day and with the temperature forecast to be in the low twenties there is an expectation that we will continue to have good fields. Hope to see you there.
