MILDURA

TUESDAY’S ladies’ Stableford was won by Emmalee Beggs (37) ahead of Margaret McGlashan (34).

NTPs were: Eily Raeck (first, 88, and 10th, 64), Carol Zimmermann (second, 400) and Rhonda Young (12th, 169).

Wednesday was a stroke event in two grades and a three-way countback decided the winner of A Grade with Frank Morello claiming the honours over runner-up Wayne Manley and Barry Pilgram (all 68). 

Dennis Grigg won B Grade (70) from Paul McErvale (71) and Ian Nimon (72). 

NTPs were: Peter Miatke (first, 62, and the daily pig pin prize), Don McConnell (second, 49), Joe Rocca (10th, 140) and Morello (12th, 72). 

The twilight nine-hole competition winner was Ferdi Bergamin (23 Stableford points)  from Sandra Hutchinson (17).

Saturday’s monthly medal attracted a large field for the stroke round in three grades. 

The best score in A Grade was net 70 from winner Robert Young,  then came runner-up David Murray (71) and Andrew Keogh (71). 

Alan Lay won the B Grade with medal net 70. Runner-up was Phil Nash (71) and third went to Michael Sette (71).

In-form Bergamin won C Grade with 72 from Brian McMillan (73) and Greg Buchanan (73). 

NTPs were: Greg Rhodes (first, 188, and the daily pig pin award), Sheryleen McGlashan (second, 66), John Hardie (10th, 280) and  Young (12th, 96). 

The winner of the ladies’ event was Sue Walmsley (76). 

Paul McErvale (39) won Monday’s veterans’ Stableford after a three-way countback over Keith Williams and Milton Clarke. 

NTPs were: G. Cameron (second, 788) and Williams (12th, 540).

COOMEALLA

LAST Wednesday’s men’s Stableford A Grade winner was Ross Robertson on 40 points. Runner-up was Mark McDonald (37), followed by Greg Rhodes (36)

B Grade: Winner: Joe Doidge 41 points. Runner-up: Warren Fitzgerald 36. Third: Barry Waters 36.

C Grade: Winner: Alister Rayner 41. Runner-up: Noel Thomas 38.  Third: Bob Fleiner 38.

NTPs were: Rhodes (third, 91, and 11th, 371), M. Warchow (seventh, 95) and Bob Meyer (18th, 27).

Wednesday’s ladies’ Stableford was won by Catherine Lanigan (39) ahead of Sue Jones (37).

NTPs were: Ann Bowen (third, 11), Pam Turner (seventh, 308), Maureen Bailey (11th, 180) and Karyne Scheer (18th, 236).

Friday’s nine-hole Stableford was claimed by Liam Freeman (26), well clear of Sally McOrist (20).

NTPs were: Rhodes (11th, 671) and Wayne Wilkie (18th, 370).

Saturday’s men’s Stableford in A Grade went to Edward Parker (38). Next came Stan Prymke (37) and Vince Dicheria (36).

B Grade: Winner: Bradley McPherson 38. Runner-up: Justin Morrison 38. Third: Ron Hunt 37.

C Grade: Winner: John Gray 39. Runner-up: Adam Stevenson 36. Third: Frank Martin 36 points.

NTPs were: Kendall Marchment (third, 340), Darryl Laird (seventh, 112), Phil Matotek (11th,  265) and Ray Lyons (18th, 110).

The ladies’ Stableford was clinched by Jill Forster (38) over Lynda Saunders (37).

NTPs were: McOrist (third, 125), Robyn Rohrlach (seventh, 310), Bailey (11th, 55) and  Janice Walker (18th, 18)

Sunday medley Stableford went to Tim O’Neil (41). Runner-up was Maddie Jukes (39) and third was Paul Booth (38).

NTPs were: Jukes (third, 80) Lee Bottomley (seventh, 360, and 11th, 310) and Tim O’Neil (18th, 183).

RED CLIFFS

KEVIN Leach won last Wednesday’s medley par with a fantastic + 5 from Mal Goodieson (+3) on countback. 

In B Grade, Ray Gillard (+3) won from Bruce Mathieson (+2).

NTPs were: Neil Rogerson (eighth), Keith Rogers (12th), Faye Englefield (15th), Leach (17th) and Jeffrey Scott (18th).

Saturday was a medley Stableford with 74 players over three grades.

The A Grade winner on 37 points was John Prictor from Tom Minns (36) on countback.

B Grade went to Joan Ryan (38), also on countback from Stuart Thomson. 

In C Grade, Jenny McCoy (34) was the winner from Ian Doering (33) – also on countback.

NTPs were: Adrian Pike (fifth), Suzanne Johns and Mark Collett (eighth), Minns (ninth), Liz Leach and Ben Hogan (12th), Sandra Marwood and Graham Lohmeyer (15th) and Minns (18th).

WENTWORTH

CHICKEN Run Wednesday saw the return of Pee Wee to convincingly win the chook with 40 net.

Runner-up was Jeff Robinson (44) and third place went to Don Reid and Garry Bourke (45).

In Thursday’s Stableford, Donny Sproh, playing like a young 40-year-old, produced 38 points to take the spoils.

Runner-up John Stephens came good with a 36-point game.

NTP was: Sproh (second, 520). Mr Risky doesn’t fall far from the tree, returning to Max Hodges for his low 14 points.

MERBEIN

SOME consistent scoring was achieved from good fields in the Wednesday comp.

Hopefully we hear some news on the progress of the clubhouse soon that we can share with everyone.

Wednesday: Winner: M. Cook 36 points. Runner-up: S. Cordell 34 points, F. Zambito 34 points.

Friday twilight: Winner: F. Crouch 15 points.

Saturday 4BBB par: Winner: M. Vining and M. Dean +9. Runners-up: M. Thomson and M. Turvey +7.

NTPs were: Dean (second, 697, and sixth, 50) Thomson (third, 520) and M. Dean (sixth, 50) and F. Drayton (16th, 390).

Coming events: Today: Stroke. Friday (twilight): Nine-hole Stableford. Saturday: Stableford.

Don’t forget our info night on Friday at 7.30pm, Roger will be presenting some information about the new handicap system and rules which are coming into force. There will be some snags on the barbie.

RIVERSIDE

MEMBERS banded together last Friday to raise money for bushfire victims. 

With the assistance of Wagners Butchery, all profits from the meat raffles went to aid those in need. 

The amount donated was $1000.

On Monday of last week Michael Englefield came away with a win after a round of 39, in front of Andrew Hill (37).

NTPs were: Michael Englefield (seventh, 490) and Bruce Liddell (18th, 490).

On Tuesday the ladies played a nine and 18-hole comp, both being stroke.

Wendy Dawson is taking advantage of the school holiday break and played well in the 18-hole event, winning with an 88/73, followed by Pat Riordan (95/74).

NTPs were: Dawson (seventh, 480) and Janet Luke (18th, with a birdie).

Marie Hudak made the most of her 39 net to win the nine-hole event.

NTP was: Meg Hamence (12th, 366).

On Wednesday the men played Stableford  in two grades.

The Riordan brothers battled out a countback in A Grade, both completing their rounds on fine 39s. 

Jeff came away with the bragging rights, leaving George in second place.

A nice score of 38 gave Jim Callaway the win in B Grade, with a countback required to split Brad Surgey and Ken Hornsby for second. 

NTPs were: Grant Giddings (fourth, 252), Kevin Eastwood (seventh, 70) and Andrew Diwell (18th, 220).

It was a nine and 18 hole comp once again for the ladies on Thursday with a good field heading out for the nine, only two took on the challenge of the heat to play 18.

Linda Dickson had a lovely round, finishing on 21 points to be the winner in the nine-hole event. Jen Stephenson was only one point behind to end up runner-up.

NTPs were: Dawson (fourth, 1150) and Dickson (seventh, 580).

Another getting in as many game as possible over the school holidays is Tracey Coulson. It only took 32 points but in uncomfortable conditions that’s all she needed for the win. 

Lorraine Palmer completed her round with 30 points.

A very nice field of 33 gathered for the nine-hole medley Stableford on Friday and the win went the way of Ian Riley with a fine 22 over Paul Wilkinson’s 21.

NTPs were: Rob Garioch (first), Paul Graham (second), Gav Graham (fourth), Jamie Donaldson (fifth), Jeff Wilkie (sixth), Steve Spooner (seventh) and Adam Schelfhout (ninth).

The much-awaited change on Saturday had men and ladies clambering to get out and whack the little ball. 

Stephenson had a ripper to snatch the ladies’ Stableford, producing a lovely 40 points. 

Linda Young’s 37 gave her second place and Sandra Eastwood came out the better after a countback with May Connolly for third, both with 35.

NTPs were: Steph Baker (fourth, 800), Tracey Bryan (12th, 13) and Eastwood (18th, 20).

The score of the week went to Seb Raiti after he put together a fantastic 42 points to win A Grade in the men’s Stableford on Saturday. 

John Wass wasn’t disgraced with a very nice 41 points for runner-up.

It took a four-way countback to finalise B Grade with 39 points being the score.

Alec Cattanach came in with the best back nine to win with John Fraser in second, followed by Barry Martin and James Minns.

The par-five 11th was kind to Andrew Diwell and Andrew Thomas, both walking away with eagles.

NTPs were: Michael Holcroft (seventh, 232), Paul White (12th, 385), Wayne Innes (17th, 200) and David Lloyd (18th, 151).

Sunday saw Shane Johns win the medley Stableford after a great round of 39. 

Second went to Dale Meridith (37) after a countback over Larry Cavallaro.

Damien Arney played three brilliant shots on the par-five 11th to come away with an eagle.

NTPs were: Tony Johns (fourth, 760) and Arney (18th, 255).
