LAST Wednesday a good field of 54 contested the medley Stableford.
Keith Rogers led the way in A Grade with a super 42 points to win from Faye Englefield, who had 37.
Bruce Mathieson had 38 points to win B Grade from Ron Baird, who had 37, and in a bright spot on what was a hard day for him, Louie Young won the pig.

Saturday’s play was was stroke and December Monthly Medal.
In A Grade Faye Englefield, with a super 69 net, was the winner from Ken Woosnam on 73 net.

THE Christmas parties are all up and running and the season to be jolly is here.
It’s lovely to see everyone enjoying happy times with their friends and family.
But it is also pleasing to see most are very aware of the consequences of drinking and driving.
Let’s all play it safe over the festive season.
The ladies played a nine and 18-hole Stableford on Tuesday and Lorraine Erny came away a winner in the nine-hole on 16 points.
The only NTP was on the seventh and this went to Meg Hamence with 820cm.
Tracey Coulson has been making the most of her free week.
It was 32 points, which gave her the win in the 18 hole on Tuesday. Tracey also grabbed the NTP on the 18th with 420cm.
Wednesday’s Stableford for the men was played in two grades.
Ned Klemm was in top spot in A Grade with 37 points in front of Gary Sharman on 36 points after a countback against Rob Arnold.
Sam Maynard put in a fantastic round in B Grade (42 points) to take the win over runner-up Michael Englefield (39 points).
NTPs: Jarrad Stokker (fourth, 330cm), Michael Nott (seventh, 470cm), Kevin Eastwood (17th, 548cm) and Chris Curley (18th, 315cm).
It was a field of 39 on Thursday for the ladies’ Christmas party.
The game was a 3BBB Stableford and it needed a countback to determine the two top placings.
The group of Di Benham, Leonie Nott and June Hensgen had the better back nine and snatched the win from Tracey Coulson, Linda Dickson and May Connolly’s team, both on an excellent 48 points.
Third place went to the trio of Ester Tamata, Jen Leach and Lorraine Palmer on 47 points.
NTPs: Lauris Hicks (fourth, 358cm), Jen Leach (12th, 65cm) and Margie McIntyre (18th, 68cm).
Friday’s nine-hole medley Stableford brought a spectacular score of 24 points from Bodan Bishop, with Jeff Wilkie in second place on 20 points after a countback from David Williams and David Byran.
NTPs: Rob Garioch on the 12th, Anthony Rizzuto on the 16th and John Fraser on the 18th.
The Saturday ladies also enjoyed a Christmas celebration, with 24 hitting the fairways.
Wendy Dawson had a beaut round of 40 points and won with two shots up her sleeve.
Runner-up had to be determined with a countback, all on 38 points, and captain Linda Young was the lucky one, with Jenny Bower and Marie Irvine just missing the cut.
NTPs: Carol Benning (fourth, 378cm), Lorraine Palmer (seventh, 530cm), Margie Lampard (12th, 87cm) and Wendy Dawson (18th, 5cm).
The men contested their Monthly Medal on Saturday in three grades.
Brad Steer is playing off a handicap of three and played a perfect game in A Grade, smashing out a super 73/70, after a countback against Ian Riley, on a very fine 79/70.
Rob Arnold’s consistency puts him in the placings often and Saturday was no different, completing a mighty round of 86/69 in B Grade for his win.
Runner-up went to John Fraser with his 90/72, but not before a countback with Tony Scullino and Grant Giddings.
Michael Englefield had the round of the day with a scorching 87/65, comfortably winning C Grade, in front of Graeme Irvin 93/68, a pretty nice round as well.
NTPs: Paul Reed (fourth, 301cm), Steve Wilmann (seventh, 171cm), David Gardiner (12th, 390cm), John Denman (17th, 114cm) and Alec Cattanach (18th, 22cm).
France Wilmann took out the weekly NTP on the seventh and Alec on the 18th.
The summer season is bringing some different faces to the fairways and Gavin Minter enjoyed the Stableford competition on Sunday, winning with a great score of 38 points.
Andrew Thomas just pipped Greg Marshall, after a countback for second place.
The par-four 13th left Grant Docking smiling, after he played two amazing shots for an eagle.

THURSDAY’S golf was again won by the in-form Ged Chapman with 38 points.
Runner-up was Bill Slee on 36 points.
Ball winners: Tom Steitz (34 points) and Garry Bourke (31 points).
NTP on the 12th went to John Stephens with 485cm. Mr Risky went to the ever-consistent Max Hodges with 17 points.
Sunday’s stroke round brought a three-way go for the prize, with Bill Murray prevailing with 72 net to win on countback from the runner-up, in-form Ged Chapman and ball winner Thomas Clark.
NTP: Howard Hankinson with 1000cm on the 17th.
Mr Risky was Max Hodges with a solid 90 net.
MILDURA
THE Doing it for Jarrod Day on December 1 was a 4BBB Stableford with some excellent scores posted.
The ladies’ section was won by Madeline Jukes and Stephanie Baker, who scored 41 points, just beating Dale Woodham and Bev Stone, who had 40 points.
Noel Hedwards and Jayden Boehm had 46 points, winning the men’s section from Andrew Keogh and Trevor Riordan on 43 points.
Nearest the pin prizes were won by Gary Fumberger (second hole, 1020cm), Lyn Saunders (second hole, 1120cm), Craig Tung (eighth hole, 802cm), Madeline Jukes (10th hole, 64cm), Ross Bowen (12th hole, 97cm) and Lyn Saunders (12th hole, 1120cm).
The ladies played single Stableford on December 3 and the winner was Glenys Anderson, who scored 34 points.
Carla Sherriff had 32 points for second place and Susan Walmsley and Carol Zimmerman both had 30 points to finish third and fourth respectively.
Nearest the pin prizes went to Carol Zimmerman (first hole, 300cm), Rhonda Young (second hole, 630cm), Glenys Anderson (10th hole, 120cm) and Glenda Hiskins (226cm).
The men played single stroke in two grades for the Monthly Mugs on December 4.
Thomas Ferguson won A grade with net 70, Paul Leonard was second with net 72 and third was Keith Williams on net 73.
Dennis Grigg won B grade with a net 70 from Peter Palazzo on 71 and David Whitelaw on net 72.
The NTP prizes went to Nigel Ingram (first hole, 72cm), Trevor Rogers (second hole, 1180cm, which also won the pig prize), Rob Toms (10th hole, 730cm) and Ron Rowse (12th hole, 362cm).
The Telstra Twilight competition on Friday was won by Cameron Kane, who scored 20 points.
Balls went to Bev Stone, Ferdi Bergamin, and Josh McAskill, all on 19 points, and Craig Tung and Frank Tippett, who scored 18 points.
The stroke competition for the Monthly Medal on Saturday was in three grades.
The A Grade winner was Josh McAskill, who scored net 71, second was Joe Rocca also on net 71 and Graeme Polkinghorne had net 73 for third.
A countback was necessary in B grade to determine that Jim Murphy was the winner from Jeff Collett, both on net 72. Craig Wright had net 73 to finish third.
Ian Nimon won C grade on net 72, from Peter Dooley on 74 and Allan McAskill on net 76.
The nearest the pin prizes were won by Tom Crouch (first hole, 130cm), Lachlan Cottrell (second hole, 115cm, which also won the pig prize), Shay Toma (10th hole, 265cm) and Robert Young 12th hole, 610cm).
On Monday, the Mildura veteran golfers played their sociable Stableford game, which was won by Geoff Cameron who scored 41 points. Dennis Grigg had 35 points and finished second on countback from John Williams.
The nearest the pin prizes went to Joe Roca on the 12th hole (160cm) and Dennis Grigg on the second hole (470cm).

MAX Turvey took out the last monthly medal for the year, which qualifies him to play for the monthly medal champion against all others that won the monthly medal through the course of the year.
