VETERANS

OUR next round of the Sunraysia veteran golfers season will be held at Red Cliffs Golf Club.

A legal requirement of our association is to conduct an Annual General Meeting. This will be held after the competition this month. As required all of the leadership positions will be spilled. Our current team has held their positions for quite some time and have gained a great deal of experience. They have competently and keenly completed their tasks. However it will still be a welcome outcome if someone new was to step up. All of the incumbents are willing to support members who are willing to take their turn. The tasks are not arduous as the group meets once a month. Leaders are necessary to ensure that each event is competently organised and run.

It’s a cooperative process between sponsors, district clubs and district golfers. The opportunity to play across all district clubs is valued for providing a unique and cost effective competition.

It is not that the current leadership team is not prepared to continue in their roles or are not valued by the members. Rather the workload would be more fairly distributed if others took a turn. It would also build up competencies through the group so that if someone was to move or become unavailable others could step up.

There are many good reasons to consider nominating for a position. So please seriously consider if you would be interested in putting your hand up to help even for a short time.
