VETERANS

MONDAY will be the veterans’ next monthly event.

Held at the Merbein Golf Club, competitors can expect a very warm and appreciative welcome.

The club appreciates our district support and always prepares a tasty lunch.

Members will have worked up a healthy appetite and a thirst after completing the 18-hole single par competition.

Starting with registrations about 8:30am the field will be under starters orders in preparation for a 9.30am shotgun start.

This month our captain John Green makes a welcome return to run through the local rules and place groups at their starting tees.

A limited numbers of carts will be available for those who want to hire one.

There are challenges with the beginning of daylight saving the day before and the more difficult par format but the rewards are worthwhile.

Great prizes, earn more points in the incentive program, participate actively in a great game and enjoy the company of the other district members.

An opportunity will also be available for members to give input into the format of next year’s syllabus.

The dates are set in concrete but the actual events are yet to be finalised.

This will need to be completed after the event as we need to inform district clubs and have this information printed for distribution.

Any district veteran is welcome to join us for the day.  Twenty dollars covers green fees, lunch and competition fees.

Looking forward to seeing you all bright and early on Monday.
