SUNRAYSIA farmers say they have "never seen fruit fly this bad", and are working to protect the fruit they have left as South Australian supermarkets dump infected Victorian produce.

Citrus grower Kevin Cock has been spraying his valencia orange crop since he noticed the first signs of fruit fly a week ago.
