Combine combustion a hot topic

RESEARCH shows more than 1000 combine harvesters catch fire every year and with the Mallee harvest almost here industry groups are warning farmers to take every step possible to protect themselves, their machinery and their farms this summer.

Most of those fires are caused by material such as chaff and other debris getting into hot spots on the harvester, including the exhaust manifold and turbocharger around the engine.
