VICTORIAN and NSW emergency authorities have issued minor flood alerts for the Murray River as far as Wentworth, as Sunraysia residents begin weeks of water-watching.
Minor flooding could be possible along the Murray River at Wakool Junction, where levels could reach 8.8 metres in the first week of October.
High water levels may cause flooding in areas close to rivers and streams and some agricultural land may be vulnerable.
In such cases, Vic Emergency said, farmers should consider moving livestock and machinery to higher ground.
Residents should check updates at www.ses.nsw.gov.au or www.emergency.vic.gov.au over coming days.
