THE height of the river in the Mildura weir pool will be gradually lowered next week for critical maintenance to the Mildura weir.

The Murray Darling Basin Authority urged river users to be aware that the water level would be lower for three weeks from June 20.

MDBA said Lock 11 would be closed to boats and the public for the duration of the maintenance.
