A CONSERVATION organisation was "surprised" last week to find fish in Gunbower Creek indicating the waterway is in good health.

While salvaging and relocating fish as part of a project to install fishways at the Cohuna and Koondrook weirs, staff at North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) came across a "big find", said North Central CMA program delivery executive manager Rachel Murphy.
