Stars on Ice

Langtree Mall – 10am-9pm

MILDURA’S Langtree Mall has transformed into a winter wonderland for the school holidays, as an ice skating rink takes over the city centre. Skaters of all ages are invited to rug up and hit the ice, with themed events and prizes on offer. Prices for a 45-minute session are $20 for adults, $16 for pensioners, children and large groups, $10 for toddlers and $65 for families. For more information or to book visit milduracity.com.au.

Hattah Desert Race scrutineering

Quandong Park – 3pm-8pm

AS the riders get ready for the weekend’s enduro, locals can head to Red Cliffs to check out all the bikes on display before they hit the track on Saturday. Riders will be there for a meet and greet, and there will be live entertainment, team displays and food and drinks on offer.

Mildura Harness Racing Day Meeting

Mildura Harness Recreation Reserve, 11.20am-5.30pm

THIS will be a fantastic day of racing, with 11 races on the card. Race 1, The Euston Club Pace, is at 11.27am. Entry is free and hot food is available. For more information, visit Mildura Harness Racing Club on Facebook or call 5023 2454.

With One Voice Choir

Sunraysia Community Health Services activity room – 6pm-7.30pm

EVERYONE is welcome to head along to this inclusive choir session, where no auditions or experience are necessary. There will be a light supper afterwards.

Hattah Desert Race

Boonoonar Road – 7.30am onwards

AUSTRALIA’S biggest motorbike enduro is back on this weekend, with more than 700 riders set to line-up at the start line for the race with a reputation as the most challenging off-road race in the country. Tickets are on sale from hattahdesertrace.com.au now, with adult admission $10 and under 16s free.

Sunraysia Farmers Market and Riverfront Boutique Markets

Jaycee Park – 8am-noon

HELD on the banks of the Murray River, the farmers’ market offers a bounty of produce from local growers and makers, with everything from fresh veg to dried fruit and baked goods. The big farmers’ breakfast spread with freshly squeezed juice is always a hit. This week, the market will also include local artists and makers from the Riverfront Boutique Markets, with all sorts of jewellery, art, candles and textiles.

Mildura Weir Parkrun

Opposite Rio Vista Park – 8am-10am

PARKRUN is on every Saturday morning and is open to all. The timed 5km course suits most skill levels and all participants are welcome to grab a coffee afterwards. Parkrun is free, but please register online at parkrun.com.au/milduraweir.

Mildura Skate Park Comp

Mildura Skate Park – 11am-4pm

WITH competitions for everyone from under-10 to adults, there’s a chance for everyone to win at this weekend’s skate competition. There will be skate, scooter and BMX events for all age groups and a barbecue available. To register, visit bit.ly/SkateParkLeagues-Enrol. Helmets must be worn.

Game Night

Mildura Church of Christ – 4pm-9.30pm

SUNRAYSIA Tabletop Gamers are holding a game night this weekend. People are encouraged to bring along their favourite games to play. Cost is $5 cash per person and snacks will be available. Under-18s must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Red Cliffs Country Market

Red Cliffs Town Centre – 9am-1pm

RED Cliffs’ monthly market is everything you expect from a country market and more. Sprawling through the town centre and Barclay Square, the market has something for everyone, including plants, jams and preserves, craft, bric-a-brac and jewellery.

Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway

Corner of Calder Highway and Millewa Road, Red Cliffs – 11am-4pm

AS the one of the few small gauge railways in Australia and the only steam train open to visitors in the area, this train is something special. The heritage locomotive will be available for steam train rides all afternoon. Fares are $8 for adults, $4 for children and $20 for a family.

Red Cliffs Historical Society Museum Open Day

Old Court House Museum – 11am-1pm

OPEN on market day, the museum has a wealth of displays on the early history of Red Cliffs, including a recently completed wall of honour commemorating the town’s pioneer blockies. Volunteers on duty will be happy to assist with any queries relating to the town’s history, or items or photos community members would like to share.
