What’s On: Dirt karters take final spin of season

Mildura Harness Racing Night Meeting

Mildura Harness Recreation Reserve, 5.00pm-10.00pm

THIS will be a fantastic night of racing, with 10 races on the card. Race 1, The Euston Club Pace, is at 5.24pm and the bistro and bar are both open for the evening. A Night at the Museum

Wentworth Military Collection – 7pm

THE Wentworth Military Collection is hosting another night-time tour. Tours include a 70-minute Marching Matilda Experience which guides visitors through the extensive collection of exhibits. To book, visit wentworthmilitarycollection.com or call 0434 549 401.

Frothy Friday

Langtree Cafe – 7pm-10pm

THE Mildura Young Professionals Network will meet upstairs at the Langtree Cafe for dinner and drinks, offering a great opportunity to create networks and friendships with like-minded young people.

Saturday Big Brekkie and Market

Australian Inland Botanic Gardens – 8am-noon

ENJOY a delicious breakfast cooked by AIBG’s team of volunteers, followed by a wander around the market stalls and a look at all the gardens have to offer. Tractor train rides will be running at 10am and 11am to take you around all the sights.

Car Boot Sale and Market

Garden of Hope – 8am-1pm

THE Garden of Hope will be full of vendors selling a mix of things including plants, produce, clothes, jewellery and bric a brac. Breakfast and coffee will be available, plus a great playground for the kids. More stallholders are always welcome, at a cost of $10 per spot.

Wenty Fishing Comp

Willow Bend Caravan Park – 8am-3pm

MURRAY Darling Junction Fishing Club Inc’s monthly fishing competition promises a great day of friendly competition. Register at the caravan park camp kitchen from 8am-11am or prior to the day. There will be prizes for the biggest cod, perch and carp as well as a mystery cash prize. Entry is $5 for members or $7 for non-members, and juniors $2 or free. Mildura Weir Parkrun

Opposite Rio Vista Park – 8am-9am

PARKRUN is back after a few weeks off, and the whole community is welcome to head down for a walk or run to start off the weekend. Parkrun is on every Saturday morning and is open to all. The timed 5km course suits most skill levels and all participants are welcome to grab a coffee afterwards. Parkrun is free, but people are encouraged to register online at parkrun.com.au/milduraweir.

Stars on Ice

Langtree Mall – 10am-9pm

MILDURA’S Langtree Mall will be transformed into a winter wonderland over the school holidays as an ice skating rink takes over the city centre. Skaters of all ages are invited to rug up and hit the ice with themed events and prizes on offer. Prices for a 45-minute session are $20 for adults, $16 for pensioners, children and large groups, $10 for toddlers and $65 for families. For more information or to book visit milduracity.com.au.

“One Last Time” end of season meeting

Olympic Park – noon-5pm

RED Cliffs Club Sunraysia Dirt Karters’ final race meeting for the season is on this weekend, with juniors and seniors taking to the track. After the racing, there will be a come-and-try day for anyone who would like to have a go. For details, visit the club’s Facebook page.

Game Night

Mildura Church of Christ – 4pm-9.30pm

SUNRAYSIA Tabletop Gamers are holding a games night this weekend. People are encouraged to bring along their favourite games to play. Cost is $5 cash per person and snacks will be available. Under-18s must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

SRS General Store market

The General Store at SRS Benetook Farm – 9am-1pm

The latest addition to Sunraysia’s market calendar offers a variety of unique creations and local crafts alongside antiques, collections, upcycled items and refurbished furniture. The market’s location also gives visitors the added bonus of experiencing the farm’s sights and activities.

Girls Can Ride!

Woodsies Gem Shop – 9.30am-noon

WHETHER learning to ride or getting back on the bike, girls of all ages can head along to Woodsies Gem Shop this weekend for a ride and a social gathering. Organised by Community RoadSafe Mildura, SuniTAFE and Coomealla Mountainless Bike Club, this event aims to get more women into cycling, whether for fun or commuting, with rides on the day for all skill levels.
