Mildura City Heart and riverfront – all day

PEOPLE out and about in Mildura this weekend should keep their eyes and ears peeled for local musicians. A range of bands and performers will be scattered throughout the city centre and the riverfront precinct during the day until late on Friday and Saturday to give a soundtrack to the stroll.

Twilight Social Tennis

Robinvale Lawn Tennis Club – 5.45pm-9pm

EVERYONE is welcome to try out tennis. There’s no need to bring a team, or even a racquet if you don’t have one – just ask to borrow one. It’s also a great way to meet people and find a match, with players of all calibres joining in the fun.

With One Voice Choir

Sunraysia Community Health Services – 6pm-7.30pm

HEAD to this inclusive choir session, where no auditions or experience are necessary.

Saturday

Mildura Weir parkrun

Opposite Rio Vista Park – 8am-noon

PARKRUN is on every Saturday morning and is open to anyone. The 5km course suits most skill levels and all participants are welcome to grab a coffee afterwards. Parkrun is free, but please register online at parkrun.com.au/milduraweir.

Sunraysia Farmers Market

Jaycee Park – 8am-noon

HELD on the banks of the picturesque Murray River, the farmers’ market offers a bounty of produce from local growers and makers, with everything from fresh veg and dried fruit to baked goods and breakfast.

Mildura Skate Park – 11am-4pm

THE skate park will be a hub of skate, scooter and BMX events this weekend, with competitions for all ages and prizes on offer. To register, visit bit.ly/SkateParkLeagues-Enrol.

Race Your Mates

Sunset Strip, Twenty Third Street, Koorlong – 2pm-late

Enjoy a day of action-packed drag racing on the Sunset Strip at Koorlong. There’s something for everyone, with a huge field and plenty of air from some tough cars and bikes. The event also features a burnout competition from 9.30pm. For more information, visit sunsetstrip.org.au.

Gates Sidecar Cup

Olympic Park Speedway – 5pm-10pm

SEE Australia’s best sidecar teams fight it out for the Gates Sidecar Cup. Gates open at 5pm, with the main event kicking off at 7.30pm.

Merbein Street Market

Commercial Street – 8am-1pm

MERBEIN’S main street comes alive on the third Sunday of each month, with stalls from local and interstate vendors selling fresh produce, arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, food and lots more.

Guards! Guards!

Cardross Hall – 2pm-5pm

THOSE who have missed live theatre will be thrilled to hear the Red Cliffs Players are back in action. Guards! Guards! is a fantasy comedy play from British writer Terry Pratchett. It’s a fun show filled with dragons, dwarves and dad jokes. Enjoy a matinee performance after the Saturday night show was sold out. Tickets are available from TryBooking or from Green Goddess Flowers in Mildura.
