A FEW teachers at Ranfurly Primary School welcomed some familiar faces within the new group of Preps starting on Thursday.

The school's visual arts teacher Ben Barker said there had been no real competition in where daughter Ava would attend school.

"This year is actually my 20th year of teaching and I've loved being part of this school since day one," he said.
