MORE than a thousand kindergarteners have taken a trip on a steam train as part of a recent three day Kinder Express program.

The initiative run by volunteers with the Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway has been in operation for more than 20 years, with preschools from across Sunraysia taking part.
