ELEVEN local kindergartens have begun taking enrolments for three and four-year-olds for 2023.

The Mildura Rural City Council has advised parents and guardians looking to enrol their child or children in kindergarten or pre-kindergarten to do so through an online process.

The council is coordinating enrolment registrations for 11 kindergartens and enrolments can be made at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/kindergarten

Councillor Ian Arney said kindergartens and pre-schools provided children with a range of experience that helped them develop and learn before starting school.

"Those years before starting school are vitally important, and we are very fortunate to have some amazing services available across our community," he said.

Enrolments under the centralised system opened on June 1, with first-round places closing on July 31. Enrolments will still be accepted and collated after this date.

Enrolments for second-round places close on August 31, while third-round closes September 30. Enrolments will continue until children have been allocated places.
