CHILDCARE at some providers in regional Victoria and NSW will be free for the duration of lockdown, after a Federal Government announcement on Monday.

Child care providers who meet a list of criteria will be able to pass on gap fee waivers and fee freezes to their customers after seven days of lockdown, with payments backdated to August 23.
