THE newly cemented Sunraysia Cricket Association heat rule is set to come into effect for the first time with senior matches being cancelled this weekend.

Updated by laws now see Sunraysia Cricket Association senior matches cancelled if the predicted temperature is 40 degrees Celsius or higher, down from the previous total of 42 degrees.
