Blows earns country call-up

GOL Gol cricket export Makinley Blows is set to suit up for Victoria in next year’s Australian Country Cricket Championships.

The former Women’s National Cricket League and WBBL player has been named vice-captain of a strong squad that will back part in the tournament from January 3 to 11 in South Australia’s Barossa Valley.

With her links to her hometown club in Sunraysia, Blows has qualified for the Victorian Country Cricket League side.

The left-handed batter has had a strong start to the season for Essendon-Maribyrnong Park in the Women’s Premier Twenty20 and one-day campaigns, scoring 397 runs and five half-centuries in eight innings, along with taking a handy five wickets.

A centurion for Victoria at WNCL level, Blows captained her Premier Cricket side to the one-day premiership in 2022-23.
