Young guns become Suns

SEVERAL emerging Sunraysia cricket stars have earned selection for the Mallee Murray Suns for the Cricket Victoria Country Cup.

Both under-16 boys and under-15 girls teams will take on the best regional players in the state across the coming weeks.

Suns will begin their respective campaigns on Sunday, December 8 in Swan Hill, the boys playing at the Swan Hill Showgournds and the girls at Alan Garden Reserve.

Both teams then have three days of games in Hamilton from Monday, December 16, with finals to be played on that Thursday.

Adam Thomson will coach the boys side with Josh Berry as assistant, while Shaun Mathews and Tara Martin will be at the helm of the girls squad.

Girls under-15: Emily Collihole (Gol Gol), Isabelle Giddings (Merbein), Honaward Kirirua-Gill (Nichols Point), Eadie Neagle (Nichols Point), Keria Ross (Mildura East), Eden Trinick (Merbein), Laylee Trinick (Merbein), Callie Trinick (Merbein).

Boys under-16: Lars Castleman (Nichols Point), Riley Cox (Mildura West), Josh Driscoll (Mildura West), Charlie Goldup (Nichols Point), Nate Kiel (Mildura Settlers), Blake Lambert (Mildura West), Colby Marr (Nichols Point), Max Morgan (Mildura West).
