Rams lead the pack

THE Red Cliffs Cricket Association returns after its new year’s hiatus and the the entire competition is out to catch the Ouyen Rams.

The two-time defending premiers have lost just one game so far this campaign and are two games clear of Tempy Tigers and Nursery Ridge on the table.

In pursuit of a third consecutive flag, the Rams are on the road to Len Arnott Oval on Saturday to face fourth-placed Robinvale Euston.

Travis Parsons has been strong in the middle order for the ladder leaders with his 149 runs coming at an average of 74.5, the best of any player with more than 100 runs.

He is also one of five players sharing second place in the wicket taking tally with 10 scalps, which includes teammate Daniel Kay.

Daniel Pryse has made 129 runs at 43 while contributing eight wickets at 6.12.

Jacob Lister has put together an outstanding season for far the Rangers, leading the run scoring (184 at 36.8) and wicket taking (eight at 13.25) for the club.

Tom Lister with 180 runs and Noah Langian with eight wickets have also been strong performers.

Nursery Ridge, meanwhile, go head-to-head with Millewa at the Onion Patch at Quandong Park.

Zac Heath has been the standout for the home side in the campaign, leading the scoring with exactly 100, plus taking eight wickets.

Experienced duo Jason Finch and Brad Purdue each have 10 scalps.

Jeremy Aworth has been a strong addition for the Bullants with 202 runs and leads the wicket taking with 12, while captain Scottie Clark is a regular contributor with nine wickets and 144 runs.

Will Lennis has also impressed with eight wickets.
