Suns stand proud in tough tournament

SUNRAYSIA’S up-and-coming female cricketers put in some solid displays during their Under 15 Girls’ Cricket Victoria Country Cup campaign this week.

While not winning any of their four games, the youngsters embraced the challenge of facing quality opposition.

The Suns were buoyed by some solid individual performances across the tournament, with Laylee Trinick (3/24), Eadie Neagle (3/56) and Georgie Cook (2/19) impressive with the ball against Central Highlanders, while Addison Bell (22) and Abbey Aldridge (17) batted well against tough bowling outfits.

The girls will play a consolation final on Saturday, January 7.

The undefeated Under 16 boys will play their Country Cup final against Northern Rivers on Friday.
