COOMEALLA Point have their eyes on breaking into the top two of Sunraysia Cricket Association Premier Women’s competition before the Christmas break.
The combined side will look to finish their calendar year in style when they host Gol Gol at George Gordon Oval for Round 10.
Coomealla Point are third with a 4-2 record, sitting behind only the undefeated Mildura West and defending premiers Mildura East.
Skipper Katelin Kemp is the competition’s leading run scorer with 168, and averages the same number, having been dismissed once in six innings.
Her form line has been exceptional in recent weeks, reaching the retirement threshold of 30 in each of her last four innings.
In other Friday games, Mildura Settlers aim to hold their place in the top four when they host Mildura East at the Senior College, while Merbein will look to leapfrog Setts provided they can get a victory over Irymple at Henshilwood Oval.
On Thursday night, Mildura West hosted Nichols Point under lights at John Hall Oval, however, results have not yet been made available.
Premier Women’s cricket returns in the new year on Friday, February 2.
