IN a tight start to the Red Cliffs Cricket Association season, Ouyen Rams are hoping to cement their position on top of the ladder with a win over a refreshed Tempy Tigers, who had the bye last week.
After losing to Robinvale Euston in the first round, the Rams have been on a charge, winning their next four matches.
Rams captain Alex Morrish believed his side was due for a loss after going undefeated last season.
“We’ve had a pretty solid set side, there’s been plenty of blokes contributing,” he said.
“That loss gave us a bit of a kickstart, I’d say.”
Morrish said it’d been a close competition so far and he expected a challenge against Tempy.
“It’s always hard playing Tempy, they’re always a tough match-up,” he said.
Morrish highlighted the performances of Daniel Pryse and Travis Parsons as key contributors to the team’s 4-1 record.
“They’ve been making a heap of runs … but the wickets have been shared around a bit, which is really encouraging,” Morrish said.
Ouyen Rams will travel to Tempy Recreation Reserve where they will play Tigers on Saturday at 1pm.
