Suns squads announced for Country Cup

THE next generation of top Sunraysia cricketing talent has been selected for the Mallee Murray Suns representative teams for the inaugural Cricket Victoria Country Cup in December.

The tournament is part of the revamped Cricket Victoria player pathway model for juniors across the state in a bid to streamline the journey from junior level to representative squads.

The Under 16 boys begin their campaign on Monday, December 11, with the final to be played on December 22, while the Under 15 girls will start on Monday, December 18, and play their final in January 2024.

The Mallee Murray Suns Country Cup squads are:

Under 15 girls: Abbey Aldridge (Mildura Settlers), Addison Bell (Mildura West) Georgie Cook (Mildura West), Angelina Forrester (Merbein), Makenzie Holy (Nichols Point), Isabella Mensch (Irymple), Eadie Neagle (Nichols Point), Mya Newey (Nichols Point), Reese Parsons (Ultima TUF), Airlie Taylor (Mildura Settlers), Callie Trinick (Merbein), Eden Trinick (Merbein), Laylee Trinick (Merbein), Shaun Mathews (coach).

Under 16 boys: Francis Boulton (Irymple), Tom Connelly (Irymple), Josh Driscoll (Mildura West), Sam Farmer (Mildura Settlers), Beau Kiel (Mildura Settlers), Charlie Kingwell (Ultima TUF), Kynan Laursen (Murrabit), Colby Marr (Nichols Point), Flynn McKnight (Wandella), Cooper Penny (Mildura West), Angus Smith (Merbein), Max Thompson (Nyah District), Harvey Vandenberg (Gol Gol), Adam Thomson (coach).
