FINALS positions are still wide open ahead of the last home and away round of the Sunraysia Cricket Association Premier Women’s season today.
Aside from ladder leaders Nichols Point Gold and second-placed Mildura East, no team is safe with third through to seventh all still potentially in line for a top-four berth.
Some final-round contests will have huge bearings on who makes the top four, however, the enticing top two clash between Gold and East has been forfeited by the former due to family reasons.
They will still go on to win the minor premiership due to having a superior percentage to East. It leaves one of the biggest contests remaining being the head-to-head between fourth-placed Merbein and fifth-placed Mildura West at Chaffey Park.
Mildura Settlers and Gol Gol will be happy to have drawn the bottom two sides Coomealla Wentworth and Irymple respectively in the final round, the only sides out of while Nichols Point Green’s bye has come at the opportune time.
All final-round games begin today at 5.30pm.
Next week’s semi-finals sees first face fourth and second host third, with the two winners playing in the grand final on Friday, March 10.
