Gol Gol, Settlers impress

GOL GOL and Mildura Settlers remain the only undefeated teams in Sunraysia’s Club Twenty20 competition after two rounds.

A half century from captain Shaun Mathews led Nichols Point to a 16-run victory over Irymple at Nichols Point Reserve.

Mathews (51 from 40), a returning Kaushik Aphale (46 from 38) and coach Luke Coates (33 from 23) all batted well to help the Point to 5/163 from their allotted overs. Dom Price led the way for Irymple with 2/28.

In response the Swallows managed 8/147 with co-coach Nick Giofre (44 from 31) and skipper Mark Thomson (38 from 26) leading the charge.
