CRICKET clubs from Sunraysia and Red Cliffs competitions can now apply for funding to help build or extend infrastructure.
The Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) provides funding for community cricket facility projects, with a focus on growing participation and promoting greater access for all. Since launching in 2018, the ACIF has contributed $4.11 million to 181 Victorian clubs to support building training nets, upgrading pavilions and redeveloping playing surfaces.
Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins encouraged Victorian cricket stakeholders to make the most of the opportunity.
“Victoria has consistently been an outstanding performer in the ACIF applications – in terms of the number of applications received and the investment that that has put back into Victorian clubs and facilities,” he said.
“We all know the difference great facilities make to our cricket experience. Whether it’s new or revitalised nets or a pavilion given a new lease on life, these projects can have a transformative impact on local participation, club profile and the assets councils have for their communities.”
The ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, councils and cricket facility managers. Grants are available in two cost categories: minor ($1000 to $10,000) and major ($10,001 to $30,000). The maximum is up to 50 per cent of the total project cost.
Clubs and organisations seeking help completing their applications can contact Cricket Victoria’s State Infrastructure Manager Callum Dean at cdean@cricketvictoria.com.au. Applications close on March 11.
