Red Cliffs Cricket Association: In-form Rams take on ladder leaders

Ouyen Rams v Nursery Ridge

A TOP of the table clash takes place at Blackburn Park when Ouyen hosts reigning premiers Nursery Ridge.

Following two draws (via rain) and a loss in their first three games, the Rams have five wins on the bounce to find themselves sitting in second place on the ladder.

Much of the form can be attributed to Conor Schultz who has 287 runs at 41 for the season, including 80 and 68 in his last two knocks.
Alex Morrish (11 wickets) and Daniel Pryse (nine) have also played important roles with the ball.

Ridge’s Shannon Bowen continues to lead the competition in total runs (372 at 93), while Jason Finch has 10 wickets in two games, including a ridiculous 6/8 against Millewa last week.

The stage is set for their first encounter of the season after their previous fixture was a wash-out.

Millewa v Robinvale Euston

FOURTH-placed Millewa will host third-placed Robinvale Euston as the former aim to put a gap between themselves and the bottom two, while the latter will aim to keep pace with the top two sides.

Just the two wins so far for the Bullants would be frustrating, however the one-day format means any teams can win on a given day.

Scottie Clark has been the standout with bat and ball (194 runs and 12 wickets) while Chris Clark and Nick Carroll have played supporting roles.

The Rangers have impressed in their return to action after 16 years, and after some early rust, they have won five of their past six games, including a victory over Nursery Ridge.

The load has been shared across the games, however, Tom Lister has led from the front with the bat (136 runs) and Ryan Kitt (11 wickets) and Jesse McGinty (nine) have impressed with the ball.

Cardross v Tempy

The bottom two sides collide at Cardross Recreation Reserve to see who can make up ground on the top four.

Cardross managed a win in the opening round of the season but haven’t been able to make a dent since then, while Tempy, who competed in last seasons’ grand final, also have the solitary victory.

The Lions have been well served by Noah Lanigan with the ball, the paceman having taken a competition high 18 wickets, while Seth Lanigan is one of only eight players to make more than 100 runs so far.

Ryan McKay leads the Tigers for runs scored, while Dylan Davies is in hot form with the ball having taken 3/1 from six overs last week.
