JAKE Reed roared back into action in his return to Victorian Premier Cricket (VCP) at the weekend with 3/37 for Footscray.
The 31-year-old former Victorian Sheffield Shield fast bowler from Red Cliffs made his VCP comeback after a spate of injuries.
The former Irymple and Nursery Ridge paceman hit form as the VCP began on Saturday with a round of one-day games.
Reed faced former club Geelong and, after taking the new ball, grabbed team-best figures as the opposition was dismissed for 225.
Footscray reached 5/229 with eight deliveries to spare, securing a five-wicket win.
Former Mildura Settlers premiership player Ben Rowles helped Camberwell to victory in his first game as captain, knocking over Dandenong by three wickets.
Dandenong made 7/189 from their 50 overs, before the Magpies chased down the total with three wickets in hand, Rowles making 36 at the top of the order.
