Nursery Ridge’s A Grade claim title sweep

NURSERY Ridge made it a clean sweep of premierships across the Red Cliffs Cricket Association (RCCA) grand finals over the weekend.

The A Grade minor premiers won by six wickets with six over to spare, chasing down the target of 114 set by Tempy.

Shannon Bowen led all scorers with 43, while Jay Turlan (25) and Mitch Shaw (25 not out) played strong supporting roles.

Tempy were held to 9/113 from their 40 overs, with openers Jace Monaghan (34) and skipper Ryan McKay (25) leading the way.

Turlan capped off a good all-round display with 3/21, and the reliable Jason Finch claimed 3/25.

In B Grade, former Victorian paceman Jake Reed cleaned up with 4/2 from five overs as Ridge knocked over the Ouyen Rams for 29.

Steve Haggett, Jackson Parker and Dave Tanner each chimed in with two wickets. Ridge lost two wickets in the chase for the small total.
