Sunraysia women cricketers shine

IT was a weekend of big runs for former Sunraysia cricketers in Melbourne and Adelaide.

In Melbourne, Mildura West’s Rhiann O’Donnell made her maiden Vicrorian Premier Firsts Cricket century with 105 not out against second-placed Dandenong.

Along with skipper and former Workers Gol Gol cricketer Teagan Parker (60 not out) the pair guided undefeated Melbourne home easily in response to Dandenong’s 183 in the 38th over.

O’Donnell also took 3/29 and snagged a run out in Dandenong’s innings, while Parker’s safe hands with the gloves registered one caught behind.

In Adelaide, former Settlers cricketer Shania McKinnon scored an unbeaten 100 for Southern Districts in a South Australian Cricket Association Premier league loss to West Torrens, with her side falling 74 runs short.

McKinnon also bowled five overs for figures of 0/17.
