Swallows enjoying a happy new year

COMING off two good wins over Workers Gol Gol and Mildura West last weekend, Sunraysia Cricket Association ladder leaders Irymple have hit the ground running coming off the Christmas break.

Co-captain Mark Thomson was pleased with how his side was able to hit form and snatch top spot off Workers Gol Gol in the process.

“We were able to blow out the cobwebs, I guess, without too much damage,” he said. “We bowled a few more extras than normal probably but part of that was coming off that break.”

First up today they have Settlers, who are coming off a loss to Coomealla Wentworth in their second match last Saturday.

Settlers have regained the vastly experienced Richie Wyld and co-coach Joel Perry is also in.

Seamus Keogh and Brayden Wood are out.

Irymple travel out to Merbein South later in the day while Settlers host East.
