Defibrillator at Pointers

NICHOLS Point Cricket Club will now have a defibrillator at its clubrooms after a grant from Volunteers Victoria.

Club committee member Travers Zanker said the $4000 grant would be for the machine as well as ther items to improve the club.

“It’s also allowing us to buy some additional equipment to maintain our clubrooms and nets, and we’re hoping to get some people trained up or qualified for the Responsible Service of Alcohol program,” he said.

The defibrillator cost about $2000.

“It’s an important piece of any sporting facility in this day and age,” Zanker said.

“It will be put in the clubrooms in a special cabinet in a highly visible spot so anyone who walks into our clubrooms will be able to identify it straight away and get it if needed.”
