A FREE hit will be awarded to a batsman after a no-ball in one-day matches in Sunraysia cricket’s First Division this year.
The field cannot be changed if the same batter remains on strike for the free hit.
Any more than two bouncers passing above the batter’s shoulders in an over will be called a no ball, while any delivery that bounces above the batter’s head while in a standing position without being hit or striking the batter will be called a wide.
Strict interpretations of wides will continue in First Division.
Meanwhile, new fielding restrictions have also been put in place.
There will be a maximum of two fielders outside the inner circle for the first eight overs and a maximum of five fielders outside the circle from overs nine-40.
