Nomination for Mildura Settlers’ Shania McKinnon

SHANIA McKinnon is the February nominee for the 2020 Merbein & District Community Bank 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year.

The talented women’s cricketer was nominated by the Mildura Settlers Cricket Club.

McKinnon had a hectic schedule during the 2019-2020 cricket season juggling commitments with her home club, Mildura Settlers, in both the women’s and men’s competition, and also playing for Kensington Cricket Club in South Australia. 

The talented all-rounder also represented SA in the Australian Country Cricket Championships held in Queensland with her team finishing runners-up in the carnival. 

She was also named in the Australian Country Women’s’ side.

Locally, McKinnon was a member of the successful Settlers women’s team which defeated Nichols Point Gold in the grand final, claiming 4/13 and scoring 33 runs to be player of the match.

As the February winner McKinnon receives a voucher sponsored by Sportspower and is now eligible for the 2020 Merbein & District Community Bank 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards on February 13, 2021 at Club Da Vinci, Mildura.
