MILDURA Settlers claimed back-to-back premierships, defeating Nichols Point Gold in the the grand final of the Sunraysia Cricket Association Women’s competition.
Setts were just too experienced and classy for the gallant Pointers.
Batting first, Nichols Point Gold were bowled out in the final over for a respectable 88.
Teoi Kirirua-Gill led from the front scoring 20 off 22, while Gina Ave chipped in with 15 late in the innings.
Shania McKinnon was the pick of the Mildura Settlers bowlers, claiming 4/13.
Laura Telfer provided good support picking up 2/14 off her four overs.
McKinnon also starred with the bat for Setts, scoring 33 retired to help her side comfortably reach their target in the 16th over.
Setts had gone into Friday night’s match favourites after finishing the home-and-away season on top of the ladder and they lived up to expectations.
The win comes on the back last year’s victory when they defeated another Nichols Point team, Nichols Point Green.
