Young shows his class for Mildura West

UP-and-coming Mildura West all-rounder Cooper Young is this week’s Mildura Sportspower Juniors Player of the Week.

The 14 and under Division 2 cricketer hit a season-high 24 runs against Mildura East at Brian Weightman Oval on Saturday to help his side from 7/121.

He then took 3/6 from four overs opening the bowling as West held their rivals to 102.

Saturday was the second time this season Young had taken three wickets in a match, the previous being 3/14 against Settlers in round 5.

West sit third on the ladder in Under 14 Division 2 and play top side Nichols Point this weekend.

As the Mildura Sportspower Juniors Player of the Week, Young receives a $20 voucher from Mildura Sportspower in recognition of his performance.
