Blows stars in cricket win over Melbourne

FORMER Workers Gol Gol cricketer Makinley Blows has been named one of the Victorian Premier Cricket Players of the Week after a century against Melbourne Cricket Club at the weekend.

The Essendon Maribyrnong Park captain hit 102 off 148 balls opening the batting to help her side to 8/214 off their 50 overs.

She then took 1/13 in five overs and took two catches as Melbourne were bowled out for 112.

Blows’ side sits atop the Women’s Premier Firsts One-Day ladder with seven wins, one loss and a draw from nine games. They play Ringwood on Sunday.
