Griffiths in award race

MERBEIN South pace bowler Campbell Griffiths has been selected as November’s Merbein and District Community Bank 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year 2019 nomination.

At club level, Griffiths had the figures of 6/59 for the Saints against Nichols Point in round 9 of the Sunraysia Cricket Association.

Following on from that successful game, Campbell was selected in the Under 19 Victoria Country XI and subsequently the Cricket Australia XI for the National Championships in Perth.

Merbein South said in the club’s nomination that Griffiths approaches his cricket with the utmost professionalism and trained in an elite manner, creating greater standards around the club and is an outstanding role model to younger cricketers.

As the November winner, Griffiths received a voucher from Sportspower and was eligible for the 2019 Merbein and District Community Bank 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Award to be held on February 7 at Club Da Vinci, Mildura.
