NICHOLS Point under-14 cricketer Tanner Clancy is the round 3 Mildura Sportspower Junior Player of The Week after a strong all-round performance against Mildura Settlers on Saturday.
In a five-run loss, Clancy took 5/31 from his eight overs to help restrict Settlers to 122 after the Pointers sent them in.
Displaying great accuracy, four of Clancy’s wickets were bowled with the other an edge through to wicketkeeper Alex Heuzenroeder.
Clancy then came in with his team 3/53 in response, scoring a measured 24 from 63 deliveries.
He got his team within striking distance before he was the second-last man out, bowled by Archie Olsen, with the score on 106.
But his team was unable to capitalise and fell agonisingly short in the 42nd over.
Clancy receives a $20 voucher from Mildura Sportspower in recognition of his performance.
