MERBEIN South have claimed their first Brad Manna Memorial Shield with a nine-wicket win in Thursday’s Brad Manna Memorial Twenty20 against Fire Brigade at Chaffey Park.
The Saints were staring at a fourth consecutive loss but after holding the visitors to 6/110 from their 20 overs they then hit a brisk 1/112 off 13 in response to easily claim the shield — struck in honour of Brad Manna.
Manna was a former player at both clubs and great mate of most of the players who died in 2017 after battling brain cancer.
